Located in the North Goa district of India, Ponda also called Fonda is the capital of Ponda Taluka. It is a major Hindu pilgrimage center of Goa. Ponda lies 28 km (17 miles) southeast of Panaji, the capital of Goa is northeast of Margao. Ponda is also called “Antruz Mahal” because of the presence of many famous temples and cultural wealth heritage. Other Attractions: Apart from these religious centers there are many other attractions in this town like the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and Dudhsagar waterfalls. These waterfalls are very famous among the holiday-makers and picnic goers. The silent environment and the breathtaking beauty of this place is very charismatic. Bondala is a place for wildlife enthusiasts and a perfect destination to watch different animals in their natural habitat. There is also a botanical garden and deer park in this sanctuary.
