The Candolim beach is located in the northern part of Goa and is close to the Calangute beach. It is one of the popular beaches in Goa and is not as crowded as the other beaches. The Candolim town is located about fifteen kilometers from Panjim and it is also one of the historically significant towns in Goa. The beach is known for its beautiful white sands and palm groves and the famous Fort Aguada is also nearby. You can enjoy a number of beach activities like sunbathing on the beach or you can try out the various water sports offered here like parasailing, water skiing or windsurfing, etc. You will also enjoy fishing in these calm surroundings or you can take a boat trip into the sea. Fort Aguada was built under the Portuguese colonial rule way back in 1612 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders.It is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort, along with the fort the church, centuries-old Church of St. Lawrence stands on a nearby hill , surround a 19th-century lighthouse and the barracks of the Aguada Jail standing in Goa, India, on Sinquerim Beach, overlooking the Arabian Sea have become tourist attractions.
