Mollem National Park and Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary is a sheltered zone situated in the Western Ghats of Goa State, along the eastern edge with Karnataka. The area is located close to the town of Molem, It covers various important temples dating to the Kadambas of Goa, and home to waterfalls, such as Dudhsagar Falls and Tambdi Falls. The parkland is also home to a community of nomadic buffalo herders known as the Dhangar. This sanctuary contains pristine vegetation entitled as West Coast tropical evergreen forests, West Coast semi-evergreen forests and moist deciduous forests. The evergreen forests are mostly spotted at higher altitudes and along the banks of the river.
Dudhsagar Falls is a four-tiered waterfall situated on the Mandovi River in Goa,India. The falls are situated in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park between the Western Ghats. The waterfall creates the border among Karnataka and Goa states.The falls is a punctuation mark in the journey of the Mandovi River from the Western Ghats to Panjim where it meets the Arabian sea. The area is surrounded by deciduous forests with rich biodiversity. This waterfall is also known as Tambdi Surla to some of the local people. The falls are not especially impressive during the dry season. However, during the monsoon season, the falls are fed by rains and form a huge force of water.
